Brief Description of Event: The academic session of 1st year MDS students in BBD College of Dental Sciences, Lucknow, commenced on 19nth September 2024. The New MDS students were welcomed by the Principal, Dr. Puneet Ahuja and HODs.
The Orientation Program was conducted on 19nth September 2024 in the Conference Hall of BBD College of Dental Sciences from 11 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. The Orientation Program began with Dr. Priya Singh, Incharge Admission Cell & Dr. Puneet Ahuja, Principal BBDCODS welcoming all M.D.S students to the BBD family and congratulating them for choosing BBDCODS as their preferred institute for higher studies.

All Heads of the Departments of Dentistry were introduced by the Principal to the postgraduate students. The respective HODs also welcomed the M.D.S students and gave a brief PPT presentation introducing their specialty and department wherein the M.D.S students got a glimpse of the facilities, achievements, curriculum, advancements in dentistry and most importantly the rules and regulations about their individual specialties. All the HODs motivated the students to be regular in classes and follow the curriculum as per DCI regulations.

This was followed by a PowerPoint presentation by the Principal in which the M. D. S students were informed about the rules and regulations of Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences, Babu Banarasi Das University and the syllabus and guidelines of Dental Council of India.

The students were also detailed about the academic, clinical and professional responsibilities as a postgraduate resident and how to go ahead with their Thesis/ Dissertation. Emphasis was stressed on original research in their respective fields. The programmed ended with the message of hard work, dedication and professional and personal discipline. The orientation concluded with refreshments to all the postgraduates & their accompanying guardians and HODs and Faculty members.
